Extended Internship

Seed and Sower Resources, Inc., in partnership with Downsize Farm, was able to fund an internship for Miranda through the Madison Champaign County Educational Service Center. Throughout the 2013 - 2014 school year, Miranda gained experience working as a para-professional. Her confidence and awareness of employer expectations developed. Following her internship, she found employment through a local business. While the new job was not in the education field, the skills she gained during her internship transferred well and allowed her to become a trusted employee.
Three Month Internship

Seed and Sower Resources, Inc. supported the 3 month internship of two individuals. In the hand written reflections shown below, both of these adults with disabilities learned valuable skills and were empowered to see themselves as productive employees.
At the conclusion of the 3 month intership period, both of these individuals applied for regular employment through the Spotted Cow Coffee Shop. They continue to work as part of the regular crew for Spotted Cow owner, Bobbi Custer.
